Spain’s Andrés García has been appointed as the new head coach of Odi Sports Club.
García, 41, holds a UEFA Pro Licence and has extensive experience coaching youth teams in Spain, including Getafe’s U-19 squad. He has also worked with clubs in Mexico, Norway, and China’s Dalian Pro youth team. Most recently, he managed Ecuadorian top-flight side Orense.
Garcia takes over from veteran Australian coach Ian Andrew Gillan, who stepped down due to personal reasons. It is understood that Gillan left the post to be with his father, who is battling cancer.
Odi Sports Club is yet to make its debut in the country’s first division league, which has not started this season. The team last competed in the FAM League Cup, where they reached the final.
