Hassan Mahir (Hantey) from B. Goidhoo has won the championship of Raaraa Pro 2025, one of the biggest kitesurfing events organized by Iconic Events.
The Raaraa Pro races, which began last Thursday in Dhiffushi, continued on Friday and today. In today's final heats, Hantey won three out of four races and came second in the other race.
The second place was secured by Raif Shaneez (Raiyppe) from Goidhoo, who is also the ambassador of the event. The third place was won by Visam Mohamed from HDh. Vaikaradhoo.
The main focus of Raaraa Pro is to increase the Maldives' popularity among an international audience, promote the country as a kitesurfing destination to the world, and create opportunities for sports tourism. Additionally, the event aims to further develop kitesurfing and boost local tourism.
Hassan Rasheed (Rush), the founder of Iconic Events which organized Raaraa Pro, said that next year's event is planned for June, and they hope to have more athletes participating.
This year's Raaraa Pro featured 20 athletes competing.
