A Maldivian flight that departed for HDh. Kulhudhuffushi this morning has returned to Male' due to bad weather conditions preventing it from landing.

The flight, which took off from Velana International Airport at 8:25 AM, was scheduled to land in Kulhudhuffushi at 9:20 AM. However, due to bad weather, the flight has returned to Male'.

Regarding this, Maldivian's Sales and Marketing Manager Fazla Ahmed said that the flight to Kulhudhuffushi was diverted to N. Mafaru due to bad weather preventing it from landing. He added that the flight was unable to land there as well due to bad weather and was diverted back to Male'.

He further stated that preparations are underway for the flight to depart again for Kulhudhuffushi.

"We are working to depart the flight before 12:30 PM," Fazla said.

Bad weather in the northA white alert has been issued from HA. Atoll to Lh. Atoll from 11:45 AM to 4 PM. The alert states that these atolls are expected to experience heavy rain with thunderstorms. Wind speeds are expected to be between 19 and 24 mph, increasing to 40 mph during squalls, and seas will be rough.

Some northern islands have been experiencing rain since last night.
